Abdolrahim Mousavi is an Iranian military officer who currently serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and holds the rank of Major General. He was appointed to this position by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in April 2019. Before becoming the Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, Mousavi served as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran. He is considered a hardliner and has been a vocal critic of the United States and Israel. Mousavi played a key role in Saudi-led coalition in Yemen by providing material and intelligence support to the Houthi rebels between 2014 and 2018.
